We’ve launched our next regional and we’re back in Louisville at the Jeffersonian. Some of you Smash 4 OGs would remember it from when we hosted monthlies there, but now we got the big building! We’ll be next to a park for you to have fun in in the mean time. We’ll be serving 10 hour smoked bbq, secret recipe mac and cheese, famous Mr. tea, drinks, hot dogs, and much more. Crew League Season 1 2019

Bourbon State Gaming’s Smash Crew League sign-ups are open!!!  For those not familiar with Crew league, it is basically like other team sports like football, baseball, basketball, etc… Where you are on a “crew” with others and you play other crews throughout a season (will probably last 2-3 months).  At the end there will be finals between the best ranking crews. We have sponsors interested in sponsoring crew this season!

Rules
-Crews will be a minimum of 5 players, maximum of 8.
– If you don’t have a crew you can list yourself as a free agent to be picked up
– Cost is $100 per crew.  If you have 5 players that is $20 per player for the season.  If you have 8 players that is $12.50 per player for the season. Sponsors will cover your cost of entry.
– %60 goes to pot, 40% goes to venue
– Crew league matches will be played in Louisville, KY (most likely at Jeremy’s house)
– 4 players play per crew league battle. They get 6 stocks split into 3 (24 stocks per team).  If less than 4 show then each player still gets 6 stocks total each.
– Coaching is allowed between and during sets (but don’t scream in their ears).
– Will most likely be played on Sundays, but possibly on Fridays it schedules align.
– # of battles will depend on # of crews.  If we have 6 or less crews than each crew battles other crews twice. If we have 7 or more than they battle each crew once.
– Finals will depend on # of crews as well.  If 4 or less than top 2 will be in finals. If 5-7 then it will be top 3. If 8+ it will be top 4.  Works like double elimination in that the lower ranking team would have to beat the higher ranking team twice in order to advance.

Sponsorships:
We have had a few different businesses express interest in wanting to sponsor a crew (or crews).  Sponsorship consists of having their business name by your crew name in any announcements and when we stream their logo will be up. If you’re interested in possibly being sponsored make sure to mark it down in the sign-ups.

Traveling players:
If you are out of state or simply out of Louisville we will try to prioritize your matches to be double headers so you don’t have to make the trip in as often.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Double Barreled II

This will be a multi game event. We will be having tournaments for Smash 4, singles and doubles, a Hearthstone tournament, and a Starcraft Remastered tournament.

You can only register for one game.
For Smash 4, you must preregister. Must select a “Smash 4” venue fee registration and then register for tournament(s). We are having tournaments for singles and doubles. We want to doubles to be huge so please get a partner and sign up! For Smash bringing a full setup will get you a $5 discount, assuming we are able to use it. Check the rules for full details.

For Hearthstone you can pre-register or pay the day of the event. If you pre-register venue fee is $5-$10. If you pay at door venue fee is $12.50. Must select a “Hearthstone” venue fee to and then register for tournament. Bring your own device.

For the Starcraft Remastered tournament you can pre-register or register at the door. It’s the same $5 “spectator” fee for both that gets you in. If you are entering other tournaments you cannot pre-register for Starcraft. You can register for Starcraft the day of the tournament if you are already out of the other tournaments by 3:30 pm. Bring your own setup.

For the Spectator fee, you can preregister or pay at the door. The Spectator Fee covers the Starcraft tournament, playing friendlies, of course spectating.

We will be streaming both Smash 4 and Hearthstone and have a seating area to watch for both. We will also have a full kitchen on premise for food.

Venue fee:
For Smash:

  • Early Registration open until September 10th: $10
  • Regular Registration open until October 14th: $15
  • Late Registration open until October 17th: $20

For Hearthstone:

  • Early Registration open until September 10th: $5
  • Regular Registration open until October 17th: $10
  • Register at door: $12.50

Starcraft/Spectator/friendly fee: $5

Refunds will not be allowed past October 7th, as to ensure tournament brackets are put together correctly.

We will be having a 250 attendance limit.

Schedule

All times are EST

  • 10:00 a.m. Doors open and sign in begins for all events
  • 11:00 a.m. Smash 4 doubles begins
  • 1:00 p.m. Hearthstone tournament begins
  • 2:00 p.m. Smash 4 Single pools begin
  • 3:30 p.m. Starcraft tournament registration ends, tournament starts shortly after
  • 4:00 p.m. Smash 4 Singles Bracket begins (tentative on completion of Smash 4 pools)
